Fernando
Rojas, is the Senior Partner of the firm.
Mr. Rojas joined the firm in 1971. Mr. Rojas
obtained his law degree from the Universidad
Mayor de San Andrés Law School, La
Paz, Bolivia and was admitted to practice
in 1967. He also attended law school at
the University of Michigan and holds a Masters
in Law (LL.M) from Harvard Law School.
Mr.
Rojas has been a Professor of Commercial
and Tax Law at the niversidad Católica
Boliviana Business School (1972-1992). Among
some of his published articles are the following:
The Unified Agricultural Tax; Doing Business
in Bolivia; Manual on Corporations and Agency
Agreement; Comments on Law 843 (Taxes) and
on Law 1544 (Capitalization); Aircraft Finance,
Registration Security and Enforcement in
Bolivia; Enforcement of Foreign Judgments
and
Tax Treaties; Oil, Gas and Mining in Bolivia.
Mr.
Rojas has also served as a Judge in Bolivia,
and has worked as a trainee in Shearman
& Sterling, New York.
Mr.
Rojas is a consultant and Board Member of
several local and foreign
companies. He is the Danish Honorary Consul
General in Bolivia, a Knight of the Order
of Dannebrog and President of the Sovereign
Order of Malta in Bolivia. He is fluent
in Spanish and English.
