Carlos
Ferreira. has been a member of the firm
since 1989. He obtained his law degree from
the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés
Law School, La Paz, Bolivia and was admitted
to practice in 1988.
Mr.
Ferreira worked as law clerk for the 11th
Civil Court of the District of La Paz. He
is presently a professor of commercial contracts
of a Masters Degree program offered by the
Universidad Católica Boliviana (in
conjunction with Harvard University) where
he has taught Civil and Business Law and
has also taught several courses sponsored
by PricewaterhouseCoopers at the School
of Business of the Universidad Católica
Boliviana. He is a Member of the Arbitration
Committee of the Bolivian Bar Association
and President of the Trademark and Patents
Lawyers Association of Bolivia. Mr. Ferreira
has written articles on issues of Trial
and Court Procedure; Intellectual Property;
Banking; and the Registration of Companies.
Mr.
Ferreira has participated in various legal
seminars, conferences, and programs abroad.
In 1999, Mr. Ferreira attended a program
offered by Harvard Law School entitled Preparation
for Foreign Lawyer. In 2001, Mr. Ferreira
completed a course on Contracts Law at the
Universidad San Pablo CEU, Madrid, Spain.
Mr. Ferreira is a member
of the Legislative Committee of the Bolivian
Ministry of Justice for the preparation
of the new Commerce Code as well as a member
of the Legislative Committee for the reform
of the Bolivian Civil Code. He is fluent
in Spanish and English.
